What You Need to Know:
- Sometimes, all we need is a reassuring message that things will be ok, in order for us to proceed forward with our lives in the best way possible. Japan is always known for overcoming adversity, doing so with grace and positivity, and so it's no surprise that iconic anime character Doraemon had a very powerful message to say to everyone last night.
- A message from Doraemon was published in the Asahi Shinbun morning edition that states that in spite of being at home during the holidays, there's plenty to do to enjoy yourselves. The main message however was made very clear and it's that だいじょうぶ。未来は元気だよ。(Daijyoubu. Mirai ha genki da yo.) which translates to it's ok. The future will be lively.
- While this message may come off as very simple the point being made is very clear, and it's that we can all get through this, one day at a time even if we're at home. Find something productive to do and most importantly, stay positive in these times.
- Titled the STAY HOME Project, the official Doraemon Twitter is encouraging everyone to take care of themselves, even going as far as creating a list of restaurants in Japan that allow for take-out delivery, with delivery staff willing to get the job done. This is the Omotenashi (hospitality) that we love about Japan...beautiful.
